The Alpha and the Omega

Common terminology sometimes expresses totality: the alpha and theRendezvous with Majestyomega, the first and the last, "a" through "z." Biblically, we go from Adam to John, from the beginning to the the end. All these expressions indicate a quality of "all inclusiveness." Nothing is omitted and everything is included. When all is said and done, it's over! There is nothing to be added, nothing to be subtracted; it's complete.
Prophets predicted the coming Messiah, the Savior of the World: See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey... (Zec. 9:9). Through study of the Word, we know that Zechariah's prophesy and similar ones all came to pass. When Jesus came, He became the all inclusive sacrifice for man's sin. No sin and no one was omitted; everyone and everything was included. Through Him, we all have free access to salvation and everlasting life. Years after Zechariah, John writes about God's all inclusive nature: "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God , "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." (Rev. 1:9). Study closely: This is a quote! God Himself is describing His all inclusive nature. John isn't saying it; he's only reporting.
This is the Christmas season--the busiest and most enjoyable time of the entire year. Here's a test: Can you put Him first and last during this season? In the middle of shopping and decorating and parties and cooking and traveling, is it possible to stop and remember what this season is all about? He has always been, is today, and will always be the author and finisher of the world and of our salvation. Throughout the 2009 Christmas season, I challenge you to put first things first. He is still the Alphaand the Omega.
He is the reason for the season!

Highlights of 2009.... From Alaska to Egypt!

2009 has been busy. Despite the tight economy, God continues to open doors of ministry, for which we are blesssed and thankful. In addition to over a dozen retreats and seminars (and 1,000s of miles traveled), I also spoke for 16 consecutive Alaska cruises. In Nov., I accomnpanied David on two Holy Land cruises where he spoke. These 18 cruises account for 136 days and nights I spent on a cruise ship in 2009! It is truly amazing how God works and leads!

In July Scott and his family came aboard in Seattle for a one day visit; so I took them to the bridge. (Left to Right: David, Preston, Scott, Linda, Braeden, and Me).

In Greece, EVERY church is a flag. This custom was adopted during occupation; they were not allowed to fly their flag, so they flew it this way!

The Middle East Tourist
This snapshotsays it all! Egypt is a dirty, 3rd world country, and yet the pyramids(only remainder of the 7 Ancient Wonders) still draw millions each year. They are mind-boggling.

You look terrific! Thanks for taking a look. This is all new, so I'm open to any comments, improvements, or suggestions. The people that set it up for me spent 100s of hours, and I spent a few myself. TONS of work, but I'm hoping a big improvement.
I will be speaking at Central on Tuesday, Feb. 9. I'm hopeful that we can have a board meeting on Monday, Feb. 8. This year I'm going to try to send the report ahead of time so that you guys can come more prepared for input. These are CHALLENGING times for speakers, and I'm trying to be as creative as possible. I don't have a time or spot yet for the meeting, but it won't be at the credit union since they're closed.

Well here I am. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with you, but so happy you continue to make changes to keep up with this ever evolving electronic age. Your website is awesome. May God continue to bless you and David as you honor Him in all that you do. Merry Christmas to you both and all the family. I pray that 2010 be your best year ever!
