Standing over 18,000 feet on the Gulf of Alaska, Mt. St. Elias is the 5th highest mountain in North America.
Vitas Bering sited it in 1741 on his only trip to Alaska. He died on his way home, but he claimed Alaska for Russia.
The mtn. is seldom seen; in fact, I have been past it over 100 times and this summer is the FIRST time I've seen it! Amazing!

Beyond measure, this was blessed. Africa changed our lives, and we will never be the same.
